And then...

BYU definitely has issues with winning every game in a season. In the past, an early loss bodes well for conference play under Bronco. Unfortunately, TCU and Utah have had down years when that happened. It would be in the best interest of the conference for TCU to win in Provo as well as beating Clemson this week and running the table. Couldn't hurt though if BYU wins out, TCU wins every game except for BYU, Utah wins every game except for TCU and BYU. That might get the Y into the BCS if Boise State and Houston falter even once. Hope it happens, but likely won't. Oklahoma and Florida State will probably win a lot more games which helps the SOS, but TCU always chokes once or twice and Utah has issues in key areas. BYU was exposed in many areas last week. It would be a miracle, but possible.

College Football

The BCS is a joke, but yet I still want my Cougars to win all of their games and take part in the process. Why that is, I don't know. My idea would be for BYU to go undefeated and then snub the BCS, but that wouldn't do any good at this point. That is what they are striving for and the BCS would just fill their pool with another team in the BCS conferences. It would be nice if there wasn't such a divide in D-1A football (don't know the new name). But, alas there is and nobody seems to know how to change it or won't do anything to change it.

BYU of course has to make it through their nonconference schedule (at Washington and vs. UCLA being the biggest challenges). They should beat N. Iowa and Utah St. and should only have two challenges in Conference play (Utah and TCU). I believe they should go undefeated given their schedule, but what will that do? They will get into a BCS game and hopefully win. They won't be in the championship game because they are not a BCS team. Any non-BCS team will never get into the championship game in the current system (I hope I am wrong on this one).

Well, go Cougars! Make it 12-0 with a BCS bowl win.
